ATLUG Day of Champions

The ATLanta User Group for IBM Collaboration Solutions (ATLUG) is planning a new event to be known as ATLUG Day of Champions on Monday April 7. The goal of this event is to provide a new style of event for the local user group centered around IBM’s Collaboration Solutions that includes IBM Notes, IBM Sametime, IBM Connections, and IBM Websphere. We are looking to be innovative in our approach for this event so expect the format of this and our regular quarterly meeting to evolve as new ideas are implemented.

Interest has been strong and we already have a full slate of potential speakers eager to participate in the event. The sessions will be conducted more in a TedTalk style with each presentation allocated a maximum of 18 minutes. So the program is going to be action packed. The event will be combined with some of the great traditions from Lotusphere – Speedgeeking and Gurupalooza hosted by Rocky Oliver that will allow attendees to ask questions of speakers and other IBM staff.

The presenters for the Champtalk sessions (all from the Atlanta area) includes 7 past or present IBM Champions for Collaboration Solutions. The full list of 12 speakers currently proposed are as follows:-

This promises to be a must-attend event for IBM Collaboration Solutions professionals in the South East so mark the date now in your calendar.

If you are interested in getting involved in the event in any way and will be attending Connect, we are proposing to have a breakfast session next Tuesday at Connect to get feedback from anyone that would like to help make this an awesome event. Alternatively reach out directly to any member of the organizing committee: Randy Davison (Macys), Lisa Duke (STS), Nathan Freeman (Red Pill Development) , Larry McCants (IBM), Peter Presnell (Red Pill Development) and share your ideas or ask questions.

Peter, I think you just press-ganged Louis into the event. I haven’t actually confirmed him yet. 🙂
